Martin Floden is a professor of economics at Stockholm University. His research and teaching interests are in macroeconomics. He is also Research Fellow at the CEPR and member of the Board of Directors at Finansinspektionen (the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority).
From 2013 to May 2024, he was on leave from Stockholm University to serve as deputy governor and member of the Executive Board at the Riksbank. In that capacity he also represented the Riksbank in the OECD WP3 group (2013-2024), the Bellagio Group (2013-2024), the Basel Committee for Banking Supervision (2020-2024), and FSB Regional Consultative Group (2020-2024).
Before joining Stockholm University in 2010, he held positions at the Stockholm School of Economics. He has been Research Consultant for the Riksbank and member of the Swedish Economic Council and the Swedish Fiscal Policy Council. He is also a founding contributor of ekonomistas.se, an economics blog in Swedish.
