The 2025 Researcher Nominations are Open!

The 2025 Nominations process to appoint new CEPR Affiliates and Fellows is open throughout May.

The 2025 Nominations process to appoint new CEPR Affiliates and Fellows opened this month.

CEPR is a network, a platform, a community of members who wish to collaborate along several dimensions: create initiatives, exchange ideas, and do collaborative work. Its mission combines fostering research excellence and policy relevance, as well as promoting the careers of junior scholars.

It is with this vision in mind that, in 2021, the Appointments Committee determined that the value of the network and of membership is dependent on CEPR’s size. To maintain the academic value of the network, to enhance meaningful collaborations within programme areas, to simplify and clarify the appointments process, and to ensure it remains fair, transparent, and well-understood, we need to keep CEPR’s size to manageable levels, and, hence, have a cap on the number of new appointments in each programme area.

With these points in mind, below is a summary of the key features and steps of the appointments process for new CEPR Researchers.

Nominations:
  • Each CEPR Researcher may nominate up to two candidates, at least one of whom must be put forward as an affiliate.
  • These candidates should not be existing members. A full list of current CEPR Fellows and Affiliates is available here.
  • The nomination should take into consideration diversity along several dimensions.
  • Each nominee can be nominated for at most 2 programme areas.
  • The deadline to submit nominations is the 31st May, at noon London time.
Appointments:
  • The Committee will appoint a maximum of up to 8 new researchers in each programme area net of disappointing current inactive members.
  • Of these new appointments, at least 50% will be Affiliate appointments to fulfill CEPR’s mission of helping the careers of junior colleagues.
  • The appointments process will promote diversity in all relevant dimensions.
Submitting your nominations:
  • To submit your nominations please log into your CEPR Hub Profile and complete the form located on your dashboard, under the Nominations menu. The form is titled ‘Researcher Nominations: 2025’.
  • Alternatively, you can view the form here.
Important things to note when submitting your nomination(s):
  • Once you have submitted your nomination(s), you will not be able to edit them further.
  • Please ensure you have selected the correct number of nominations via the drop-down option at the top of the form.
  • Do not click 'Submit' until you are satisfied with both nominations.

CEPR will process these nominations over the summer, and in early October, the Appointments Committee, consisting of the two Co-Chairs of the Committee and the relevant Programme Director in each Programme Area, will complete the process by appointing new members.

Thank you for your invaluable support and collaboration in making the appointments process successful. If you have any questions regarding the Appointments Process in general, please contact the Appointments Team at [email protected].
